Reversal
A reversal is the entry that exactly undoes another: the same accounts, each amount on the opposite side. Recorded entries are never edited or erased; a mistake is corrected by reversing it and recording the right one. Both remain in the books, so nothing disappears. Example: reversing a 250 debit to Rent with a 250 credit to Rent.
