Equity
Equity is the owners' share of the business: what is left of the assets once the liabilities are paid. It grows with what the owners put in and with profits kept, and shrinks with losses and withdrawals. Example: the owner puts 5,000 into the business account: Cash up 5,000, Capital up 5,000.
