Accounts receivable
Accounts receivable is the money customers owe the business for sales made on credit. It is an asset: the right to be paid. When the customer pays, the receivable goes down and cash goes up. Example: selling for 600 on credit debits Receivable 600 and credits Sales 600; the payment later debits Cash 600 and credits Receivable 600.
